Famous villages that are full of character for Riesling
Each wine village is known for a certain style of wine. This has to do with the climatic conditions of the river valleys of the Mosel, Saar, and Ruwer. Although in some villages it has to do with the diversity of the slate soil, the orientation of the vineyards to the sun, the degree of the slopes, and much more. At the end, the cellar team at Bischöfliche Weingüter Trier only adds the finishing touch.
By the way, already in the 19th century, the village, rather than the site, was listed on the label.
The village Riesling (Ortsriesling) are vinified in the tradition of dry and off-dry Kabinett wines and are therefore legally a Prädikatswein.
